Senate Resolution 142

A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Aric Spivey; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, 4-H Clubs of Georgia provide a unique educational opportunity for students from nine to 19 years of age to learn valuable lessons outside the classroom and offer some 55 project areas in which students can develop expertise and compete with one another; and

WHEREAS, Georgia´s 4-H programs are coordinated by the Cooperative Extension Service of the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, and this service is the major university outreach program focusing on the youth of this state; and

WHEREAS, Aric Spivey is an outstanding member of the Coffee County Shotgun Team, winners of the National 4-H Shotgun Competition; and

WHEREAS, this accomplishment is the result of the persistent hard work and dedication of the members of the Coffee County Shotgun Team, and the Coffee County community and the State of Georgia take great pride in their national achievement.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend Aric Spivey as a member of the Coffee County Shotgun Team, winners of the National 4-H Shotgun Competition, and for his outstanding dedication to the principles of 4-H programs.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Aric Spivey.
