RESOLUTION
Commending
and congratulating Children´s Healthcare of Atlanta; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Child
magazine has ranked Children´s Healthcare of Atlanta sixth among this
nation´s best pediatric hospitals; and
WHEREAS,
the magazine´s February, 2005, issue includes survey results identifying
the top ten children´s hospitals in America; and
WHEREAS,
this remarkable hospital was also ranked among the best five in the nation for
four specialty programs: the AFLAC Cancer Center and Blood Disorders Service
ranked third; the neonatal intensive care unit ranked third; the orthopaedics
program ranked third; and the Sibley Heart Center ranked fourth, for the second
consecutive year; and
WHEREAS,
Children´s Healthcare of Atlanta, a nonprofit hospital, is well known for
its compassionate care and stellar staff; and
WHEREAS,
these latest rankings confirm the experience of many young patients and their
families, who will not be surprised that a national survey has documented the
excellence of Children´s Healthcare of Atlanta; and
WHEREAS,
Children´s Healthcare of Atlanta is an asset to the metropolitan Atlanta
area and to the state.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
and congratulate Children´s Healthcare of Atlanta for this national
recognition.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Children´s Healthcare
of Atlanta.
