RESOLUTION
Commending
the 2004 Walton High School Football Team and Coach Ed Dudley; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the 2004 Walton High School Football Team advanced to the state semi-finals with
an incredible record of 12-1; and
WHEREAS,
six Raiders were named to the
Marietta Daily
Journal's All-Cobb County team, and the
Atlanta
Journal-Constitution named Craig Camay and
Justin Forte to its Class AAAAA All-State team and named Mr. Forte its Class
AAAAA Offensive Player of the Year; and
WHEREAS,
Coach Ed Dudley, who was named Cobb County Coach of the Year by the
Marietta Daily
Journal, is not only the longest serving
coach in school history but his 64 wins have also set a school record;
and
WHEREAS,
these achievements are the culmination of a season of hard work, exemplary
sportsmanship, and exceptional teamwork among this fine group of outstanding
young men and their dedicated coach; and
WHEREAS,
the Walton community and the State of Georgia take great pride in the
accomplishments of this extraordinary team.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in
commending the members of the 2004 Walton High School Football Team and their
coach, Mr. Ed Dudley, for their outstanding performance during this highly
memorable season.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Coach Ed Dudley, Walton
High School.
