RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending William Kershaw for outstanding contributions to public education
in the State of Georgia; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Kershaw is a highly respected educator in the Muscogee County School System;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Kershaw's talent as a teacher is most evident in the fond regard of his
fellow teachers, superiors, parents, and especially his students;
and
WHEREAS,
the contributions and achievements of Mr. Kershaw have been recognized by his
selection as Teacher of the Year for Dawson Elementary School; and
WHEREAS,
nothing is more vital to the future of our state than the education of our young
people, and Mr. Kershaw exemplifies the selfless dedication which is
characteristic of our finest educators; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Kershaw stands as a shining example of the important impact that the efforts
of individual classroom teachers are making on the quality of education received
by the children of this state, and it is abundantly fitting and proper that his
superlative accomplishments be recognized appropriately.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that this body hereby recognizes and
commends Mr. William Kershaw; extends its congratulations upon his selection as
a 2005 Teacher of the Year; and expresses its gratitude for the great credit
this outstanding educator reflects upon his school and school system and the
State of Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. William Kershaw.
