A RESOLUTION

Commending Riverwood High School's International Studies Magnet School; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Riverwood High School is one of Fulton County School's four magnet schools, offering the International Studies and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programs; and

WHEREAS, over half of the Riverwood High School's diverse student body is enrolled in this challenging and exciting four-year curriculum that focuses on world issues, global economics, and cultural awareness and that offers field experiences such as internships and travel opportunities; and

WHEREAS, the school's International Baccalaureate Diploma Program is recognized around the world for its high academic, service, and examination requirements; and

WHEREAS, under the leadership of its principal, Mr. Edward H. Echols, Riverwood High School's International Studies Magnet School excels at cultivating multidimensional thinkers and instilling in its students a global perspective on politics, culture, science, and technology; and

WHEREAS, Riverwood High School's International Studies Magnet School's unique and prestigious program is an invaluable contribution to the educational system of Georgia, and it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding teachers, administrators, students, and families that make this school a resounding success be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
join together to commend Riverwood High School's International Studies Magnet School for offering an innovative and exciting educational opportunity for its students.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Edward H. Echols, principal of Riverwood High School.
