RESOLUTION
Commending
the Rome City Police Department on its national reaccreditation; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Rome City Police Department is celebrating its well-earned national
reaccreditation after meeting the rigorous demands for this designation;
and
WHEREAS,
this honor was bestowed by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement
Agencies on November 19, 2005, at the organization's national conference in
Nashville; and
WHEREAS,
the Rome City Police Department belongs to an elite group of public safety
groups that have received this prestigious, international distinction;
and
WHEREAS,
the men and women of this outstanding department merit the highest commendation
for this extraordinary accomplishment; and
WHEREAS,
in its commitment to excellence and its outstanding service to the citizens of
its community, the Rome City Police Department has set a laudable example for
law enforcement agencies across the state and the nation.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in
commending the Rome City Police Department and congratulate this department on
its recent national reaccreditation.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Rome City Police
Department.
