A RESOLUTION

Congratulating Mrs. Kathleen Batson for being selected as Mrs. Georgia 2005; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Mrs. Kathleen Batson of Snellville has been named Mrs. Georgia 2005; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Batson has a B.B.A. degree in marketing from Kennesaw University and is a 4.0 graduate of West Georgia College with a teaching middle school education certification; and

WHEREAS, devoted to helping our children through her teaching talents, Mrs. Batson taught at Loganville Middle School and has taught youth Sunday school for the past ten years; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Batson is a spokesperson for H.O.S.T.S. Mentoring and volunteers weekly in Gwinnett County schools to tutor disadvantaged students; and

WHEREAS, she was the host for the C.H.R.I.S. kids annual fundraiser and speaks for Boys and Girls Clubs of America; and

WHEREAS, she also serves as a motivational speaker for students and church groups, encouraging her young audiences to be anything they choose to be; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Batson is the proud mother of India Batson and the wife of Bryan Batson; and

WHEREAS, throughout her life, Mrs. Batson has always been a most outstanding citizen, and we know that this remarkable lady will represent our state with distinction as Mrs. Georgia 2005.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in congratulating Mrs. Kathleen Batson on being selected as Mrs. Georgia 2005 and commend her on her many invaluable contributions to our state.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Kathleen Batson.
