A
RESOLUTION
Commending
the Lowndes High School Viking football team on winning the 2005 AAAAA State
Championship; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
for the second time in as many years, the Lowndes High School Viking football
team of Valdosta, Georgia, has won the AAAAA State Championship;
and
WHEREAS,
the Vikings have won three state championships and have been named regional
champions five times since 1997; and
WHEREAS,
this season's astounding success is the result of the dedication, determination,
and cooperation of each and every one of the team's exceptional players;
and
WHEREAS,
Coach Randy McPherson, who has been with the Vikings since 2002, was named the
region's Coach of the Year in recognition of his outstanding leadership;
and
WHEREAS,
with their triumph at the 2005 AAAAA State Championship, the Vikings have
carried on Lowndes High School's long-standing tradition of athletic
excellence.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in
commending the Lowndes High School Viking Football Team on winning the AAAAA
State Championship and congratulate the team on its many successes.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Lowndes High School
Viking Football Team.
