RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Ward Black, Winner of the National Future Farmers of America
Proficiency Award for Home and Community Development; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
at the 77th National FFA Convention in Louisville, Kentucky, Mr. Ward Black
competed in the FFA Proficiency Awards competition; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Black brought great honor and credit to his school and the State of Georgia,
receiving the national award for Home and Community Development;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Black is President of the Jackson County Comprehensive High School chapter
of Future Farmers of America; and
WHEREAS,
when the Black's family farm started to become outdated, he took it upon himself
to improve the facilities needed for a productive operation, developing a better
corral system and restoring the barn to meet his needs in beef production;
and
WHEREAS,
his achievements truly demonstrate the FFA motto, "Learning to Do, Doing to
Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve," and set a fine example for all those
students who will participate in this outstanding FFA chapter in the years to
come.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in
recognizing and commending Ward Black, Winner of the National FFA Proficiency
Award for Home and Community Development and look forward to the promising
future of this outstanding young man.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Ward Black.
