A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT

To amend an Act creating a new charter for the City of Willacoochee, approved December 22, 1953 (Ga. L. 1953, Nov.-Dec. Sess., p. 3039), as amended, so as to authorize the mayor and aldermen to impose a gross receipts tax; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.
An Act creating a new charter for the City of Willacoochee, approved December 22, 1953 (Ga. L. 1953, Nov.-Dec. Sess., p. 3039), as amended, is amended by inserting a new Section 824.1 to read as follows:

"SECTION 824.1.
Gross receipts tax.

The mayor and aldermen of said city shall have the authority to impose a tax on gross receipts for individuals, companies, and entities operating within the city, including, but not limited to, railroads, street railways, public transportation, telephone companies, electric companies, electric membership corporations, cable television and other telecommunications companies, gas companies, transportation companies, and other organizations, not otherwise paying a franchise fee, including each secondary supplier (including specifically electric membership corporations, whether or not operated for profit) within the meaning of Chapter 3 of Title 46 of the O.C.G.A., distributing and selling electric power within the city which is not otherwise paying a franchise fee pursuant to a franchise agreement and whether or not said secondary electric supplier has, operates, or maintains offices within the incorporated limits of the City of Willacoochee."

SECTION 2.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
