BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act providing for the composition and election of the Board of
Education of Emanuel County, approved April 12, 1982 (Ga. L. 1982, p. 4049), as
amended, particularly by an Act approved March 10, 1988 (Ga. L. 1988, p. 3836),
so as to change the compensation of the chairman and members of that board; to
repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act providing for the composition and election of the Board of Education of
Emanuel County, approved April 12, 1982 (Ga. L. 1982, p. 4049), as amended,
particularly by an Act approved March 10, 1988 (Ga. L. 1988, p. 3836), is
amended by revising Section 5 as follows:
"Section
5.
At
the first meeting of the board in January, and at the January meeting biennially
thereafter, the board shall elect one of their members as chairman to serve for
a term of two years and such other officers as the board shall determine. Four
members of the board shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business.
All members of the board shall be compensated in the amount of $400.00 per
month, plus actual and necessary expenses incurred in carrying out their
official duties, except that the compensation of the chairman shall be $450.00
per month, plus actual and necessary expenses incurred in carrying out the
chairman´s official duties."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
