RESOLUTION
Expressing
regret at the passing of Kenneth O. "Ken" Porter; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
on May 25, 2006, the State of Georgia lost one of its finest and most
distinguished citizens with the passing of Ken Porter; and
WHEREAS,
this beloved individual was a graduate of Gainesville High School, Gainesville
Junior College, and North Georgia College; and
WHEREAS,
he loved this state and his country as demonstrated by his years of service in
the United States Air Force; and
WHEREAS,
this honest and dedicated man strived for excellence in all his endeavors as
evidenced dramatically by his success as the owner and operator of Ken Porter
Irrigation Company; and
WHEREAS,
he was preceded in death by his loving parents, Louis and Jane Porter;
and
WHEREAS,
the passing of this generous, kind, and devoted family man leaves an unfillable
void in the hearts and lives of his family and friends.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body express their deepest and most sincere regret at the passing of
Kenneth O. "Ken" Porter.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of
Ken Porter.
