A
RESOLUTION
Commending
Ms. Jennifer Nell McAuley, the Jefferson City School System's Teacher of the
Year; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
a proper quality education for the young people of this state is the single most
important objective of the General Assembly; and
WHEREAS,
dedication and diligence by committed teachers foster excellence in education;
and
WHEREAS,
the annual Teacher of the Year awards are made by local school districts in
recognition of teaching excellence; and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Jennifer Nell McAuley teaches 7th grade life science at Jefferson Middle
School and is interested in sponsoring science and international clubs and
activities; and
WHEREAS,
Ms. McAuley graduated from Parkview High School in 1994 and went on to obtain a
Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a Minor in German from Berry College
in 1998 and a Master of Education degree in Science Education with an emphasis
in Biology from the University of Georgia in 2005; and
WHEREAS,
she began teaching at Jefferson Middle School in 2004 after completing her
practicum at Madison County Middle School and student teaching at Coile Middle
School; and
WHEREAS,
she has a keen interest in nature and has been an interpretive naturalist,
educator, and summer camp counselor at the Chattahoochee Nature Center in
Roswell, Georgia, and an educator and animal keeper at Stone Mountain Park
Wildlife Preserve in Stone Mountain, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
she was named Teacher of the Year at Jefferson Middle School for 2006-2007,
Who's Who Among
Students in American Universities and
Colleges, and made the Dean's List at
Berry College; and
WHEREAS,
in recognition of Ms. Jennifer Nell McAuley's contributions to the education and
welfare of young people in this state, it is abundantly fitting and proper for
this body to honor the extraordinary accomplishments and academic achievements
of this outstanding individual.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend heartily Ms. Jennifer Nell McAuley, the Jefferson City School
System´s Teacher of the Year, and express to her their sincerest best
wishes and confidence in her continued success in the future.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ms. Jennifer
Nell McAuley.
