RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and honoring the life of Mrs. Betsy Mullins DeFilippis; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia lost one of its finest and most distinguished citizens with
the passing of Mrs. Betsy Mullins DeFilippis; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. DeFillippis was retired from Gulfstream Aerospace, and after retirement,
she became very active in her community volunteering for the Eighth Air Force,
the Shriners, and the Pooler Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS,
it has been said that her most notable strength was her love and kindness toward
her family and friends; she never met a stranger, and she promoted her home town
of Pooler with great fondness; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. DeFillippis, a devoted wife, was married to her husband Al for 50 years,
and she was a loving protector to her three sons, ten grandchildren, and one
great-grandchild; a loyal friend to her community; and a very active member of
her church, Holy Angels Episcopal Church; and
WHEREAS,
her talents, remarkable patience and diplomacy, and acute sensitivity to the
needs of her family, friends, and colleagues earned her the respect and
admiration of the citizens of Pooler, Georgia.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join together in recognizing and honoring the life of this
extraordinary individual and send their sincerest and most heartfelt condolences
to her family, friends, and colleagues.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby
authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to
the family of Mrs. Betsy Mullins DeFilippis.
