RESOLUTION
Commending
Alvaro Lopez; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Alvaro Lopez of Boy Scout Troop 555 will be awarded the rank of Eagle Scout, the
highest recognition conferred by the Boy Scouts of America; and
WHEREAS,
a candidate for the Eagle Scout rank must complete a rigorous program of
training and demonstrate proficiency in selected scouting techniques;
and
WHEREAS,
few boys reach this lofty level of achievement, and Alvaro Lopez has ably
demonstrated the various special skills taught through the Boy Scout program and
completed a significant community service project constructing an outdoor
classroom for Montclair Elementary School, including garden boxes and picnic
table in a courtyard of the school and a garden box in memory of the former
gardener, thereby leading a project which involved coordinating fellow scouts
and additional volunteers for over 200 service hours; and
WHEREAS,
this outstanding young man has truly exhibited a commitment to the scouting
principles of honesty, fairness, and community service, and he has consistently
conducted himself in a manner becoming of an Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper for this body to recognize the excellent
accomplishments of this very dedicated Boy Scout.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Alvaro Lopez for his diligence and dedication in pursuing the
highest award in the Boy Scouts of America and congratulate him on attaining the
prestigious rank of Eagle Scout.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Alvaro Lopez.
