RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and honoring the memory of Mr. W. Earl Marshall; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. W. Earl Marshall was recently inducted into the Houston County Teacher Hall
of Fame; and
WHEREAS,
the Hall of Fame honors those extraordinary teachers who have made a significant
difference in the lives of their students; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. W. Earl Marshall graduated from Perry High School in 1944, and after earning
his degree, he returned to Perry High School in 1951, where he taught science
for 19 years, passing away in 2004 at the age of 77; and
WHEREAS,
he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; his loyalty, competency,
reliability, and enthusiasm distinguished his superlative service to public
education in this state; and
WHEREAS,
his deep personal commitment to his duties as well as his great compassion for
the students he taught earned for him the respect and admiration of the people
with whom he worked.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body honor the memory of Mr. W. Earl Marshall for his many decades of
efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated service to public education in
Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of
Mr. W. Earl Marshall.
