RESOLUTION
Congratulating
the North Oconee fast-pitch softball team on winning the 2006 Class AA State
Championship and inviting them to appear before the House of Representatives;
and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
on Tuesday, October 31, 2006, with the support of their families, peers, and the
greater Oconee community, the Lady Titans scored a 4-3 victory to seize the
Class AA championship; and
WHEREAS,
the North Oconee County High School fast-pitch softball team reached the
championships under the leadership of Head Coach Bryan Eades and is composed of
the following athletes: Jessica Adams, Linsey Dallas, Katie Garrett, Pilar
Harden, Ansley Highfill, Ashley Johns, Rachel Mobley, Tori Parsons, Megan
Simmons, Kristen Satcher, Kristen Thomas, Amy Thompson, Shea Wages, and Ali
Watson; and
WHEREAS,
this occasion marked North Oconee County High School's first state championship;
and
WHEREAS,
the Lady Titans exemplified the virtues of sportsmanship and community spirit,
winning alongside their neighbors, the Oconee Lady Warriors; and
WHEREAS,
the Oconee community and the State of Georgia take great pride in the
accomplishments of these fine young champions.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that this body
congratulates the 2006 State Class AA Champion North Oconee County High School
fast-pitch softball team and Head Coach Bryan Eades for their outstanding
performance.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the North Oconee fast-pitch softball team is hereby
invited to appear before the House of Representatives at a date and time to be
fixed by the Speaker of the House for the purpose of being recognized by the
House and receiving an appropriate copy of this resolution.
