A
RESOLUTION
Congratulating
and commending Etowah High School for being selected as a Georgia School of
Excellence; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Etowah High School was recently selected as a Georgia School of Excellence; and
WHEREAS,
they were one of only four schools in the State of Georgia to receive this
award; and
WHEREAS,
criteria for this award were the highest gains in student achievement in test
scores over the past three years in reading, language arts, and math; and
WHEREAS,
the award was presented at the Georgia Schools of Excellence awards banquet held
on February 8, 2008, at the Georgia World Congress Center, with the Etowah High
School administration staff, the board of education members, and a county
representative in attendance, and the Etowah High School AFJROTC drill team
presented the colors to begin the banquet; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that Etowah High School be recognized
appropriately upon the grand occasion of this extraordinary
achievement.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body heartily congratulate Etowah High School on being selected as a
Georgia School of Excellence and commend its staff and students for their
efforts to improve education in their community and the state.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the principal
of Etowah High School.
