A RESOLUTION


Commending Gene and Betty Hall; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Gene and Betty Hall have long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that they have played in leadership and their deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia, particularly the children of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, they have diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of their time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of their community and state as evidenced dramatically by their work as foster parents since November 1, 1982; and

WHEREAS, they have worked closely with the Chattooga County Department of Family and Childrens Services and have cared for over 160 children over the years, many of whom have been special needs children; and

WHEREAS, it takes a special type of person to be a foster parent and to work with special needs children, and those who undertake such work are worthy of our gratitude and honor; and

WHEREAS, their significant organizational and leadership talents, their remarkable patience, their keen sense of vision, and their sensitivity to the needs of their community have earned them the respect and admiration of their colleagues and associates; and

WHEREAS, they are persons of magnanimous strengths with unimpeachable reputations for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of these remarkable and distinguished Georgians be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Gene and Betty Hall for their many years of efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the citizens of his community and state and extend to them their most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Gene and Betty Hall.
