RESOLUTION
Commending
the Etowah High School Lady Eagles cross country team; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Etowah High School Lady Eagles cross country team has established and
maintained a proud tradition of excellence in cross country running with equal
emphases on character and academics; and
WHEREAS,
this superlative team has completed another ultrasuccessful season of cross
country competition by posting an outstanding record; and
WHEREAS,
the Eagles girls cross country program requires dedication and extensive
training as evidenced by the girls beginning training in May on their own, with
voluntary practice beginning in June, and regular Monday through Friday
practices in the evening in addition to two morning practices per week;
and
WHEREAS,
the remarkable performance of the 2006 team marked the continued success of the
Etowah High girls cross country team by winning the region championship in cross
country and displaying notable performances in the Clara Bowl Invitational, the
Warpath Invitational, and the Last Chance Invitational finishing second and in
the Spartan Invitational and the Cass-Carterville Invitational winning first
place; and
WHEREAS,
the phenomenal performance of this team is a clear indication of the outstanding
athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, and the unity of purpose and
spirit of each member of the team and their superb talents; and
WHEREAS,
this magnificent team performed with precision during the season and earned its
well-deserved reputation for high standards of athletic achievement, the quality
of its endeavors play, and the stiff competition which it presented its
opponents.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend the Etowah High School Lady Eagles cross country team for its
unparalleled achievements and extend their sincerest best wishes for continued
success in the future.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Coach Katrina
Purugulla.
