RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mrs. Tiffany English; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Tiffany English, a resident of Buford, Georgia, has been a music teacher in
the Gwinnett County School system for 13 years; and
WHEREAS,
she has an undergraduate degree in music education from the University of
Georgia, a Master's degree in early childhood education from Piedmont College,
and is currently pursuing her specialist degree from Piedmont College in
curriculum and instruction; and
WHEREAS,
she has a passion and a gift for working with children in the area of music
education; and
WHEREAS,
her talents have been recognized by her peers and her students who named her
the Sugar Hill Elementary Teacher of the Year and the Gwinnett County Elementary
Teacher of the Year in 2006, Teacher of the Year in 1997, a semi-finalist as
Gwinnett County Teacher of the Year in 2001, and the National Up and Coming
Music Educator Award in 2000; and
WHEREAS,
in November, 2006, Mrs. English was acknowledged as the Gwinnett County Teacher
of the Year, and in March, 2007, she will be honored as the VFW Post 5257
Teacher of the Year; and
WHEREAS,
she is a woman possessed of exceptional patience and compassion and is an
inspiration to all who know her; and
WHEREAS,
dedication and diligence like that demonstrated by Mrs. English fosters
excellence in education; and
WHEREAS,
in recognition of her contributions to the education and welfare of young people
in this state, it is abundantly fitting and proper for this body to honor the
extraordinary accomplishments and academic achievements of this outstanding
individual.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body honor Mrs. Tiffany English and commend her contributions in the field
of education.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Tiffany
English.
