RESOLUTION
Commending
The Landings Garden Club of Savannah, Georgia; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
The Landings Garden Club of Savannah, Georgia, was created for the conservation,
civic development, and the beautification and protection of our natural
resources; and
WHEREAS,
The Landings Garden Club has diligently worked for many years to create a native
plant trail to preserve and reintroduce indigenous plants to the inner-barrier
island areas and to educate new homeowners to landscape with native plants;
and
WHEREAS,
in 2006 The Landings Garden Club received the Conservation Project Award from
the Garden Club of Georgia, Inc., for the finest work in conserving and
protecting the natural resources of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
this outstanding club has received national recognition from National Garden
Clubs, Inc., whose members include thousands of national clubs and hundreds of
international affiliates; and
WHEREAS,
for its dedicated conservation efforts, The Landings Garden Club was awarded
the 2006 Conservation Award from the Deep South Region, National Garden Clubs,
Inc., and the 2006 Outdoor Classrooms Nature Trails Award from the National
Garden Clubs, Inc.; and
WHEREAS,
The Landings Garden Club of Savannah, Georgia, through the dedicated efforts of
its members and their many worthy projects, has contributed to the public´s
awareness of the natural beauty of Georgia and to the promotion, protection, and
preservation thereof.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend The Landings Garden Club of Savannah, Georgia, for its
outstanding achievements and contributions to the preservation and
beautification of the State of Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to The Landings
Garden Club of Savannah, Georgia.
