RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Miss Brittanie Lenice Faircloth, the 2007 Georgia Watermelon
Queen; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Miss Brittanie Lenice Faircloth was recently selected as the 2007 Georgia
Watermelon Queen by the Georgia Watermelon Association, and, in Brittanie, the
association found a deserving queen and a talented, beautiful, and accomplished
young woman; and
WHEREAS,
Miss Faircloth, the 19 year old former Wilcox County Homecoming Queen, is
attending Valdosta State University where she is studying speech pathology;
and
WHEREAS,
Miss Faircloth is highly qualified to serve as Georgia Watermelon Queen, having
graduated high school with honors on the Dean´s list and been vice
president of Public Relations for the College Panhellenic Council, scholarship
chair for Alpha Delta Pi, a member of the Beta Club and the Alpha Lambda Delta
Society, and a Ronald McDonald House volunteer; and
WHEREAS,
she is an incredibly active and energetic young woman who also enjoys scrap
booking, painting, and cooking; and
WHEREAS,
as Georgia Watermelon Queen, Brittanie is the official spokesperson for the
Georgia Watermelon Association, and she will make many appearances this year
across this state on behalf of Georgia´s watermelon industry and as an
ambassador for the State of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
with her poise, beauty, and intelligence, she is sure to be an exemplary
representative of agriculture and the watermelon industry in
Georgia.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize and commend Miss Brittanie Lenice Faircloth for being
selected as the 2007 Georgia Watermelon Queen and for her many achievements and
outstanding representation of the State of Georgia and its agricultural
heritage.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Miss
Brittanie Lenice Faircloth.
