RESOLUTION
Recognizing
the 24th Annual Georgia Association of Educators Legislative Conference; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Georgia Association of Educators (GAE) is the oldest organization in Georgia
to represent school employees in every public school district in Georgia;
and
WHEREAS,
the GAE represents public school teachers, administrators, education support
personnel, retired educators, college students, and college faculty;
and
WHEREAS,
the GAE works untiringly to improve Georgia's public schools, supporting efforts
to protect the health and safety of all children and assiduously striving to
empower educators to make a difference in the lives of children;
and
WHEREAS,
the GAE supports efforts to protect and expand the rights and benefits of all
school employees and to attract and retain well-qualified educators to teach
every child in Georgia's public schools and prepare them for the jobs of
tomorrow; and
WHEREAS,
the GAE annually conducts a Legislative Conference providing an opportunity for
GAE members from every school district to discuss legislative priorities with
members of the Georgia General Assembly.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in recognizing February 26, 2007, as the 24th Annual GAE
Legislative Conference Day and extending their sincerest appreciation for the
dedicated hard work of every public school employee in Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Georgia
Association of Educators.
