A
RESOLUTION
Honoring
and remembering the life of Evan Wesley King; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia lost one of its finest and most distinguished young
individuals with the untimely passing of Evan Wesley King; and
WHEREAS,
Evan, a junior at Gainesville High School, was known throughout the community
for his cheerful spirit and his willingness to help others; and
WHEREAS,
he was a member of the varsity golf team, enjoyed riding motorcycles, and had
dreams of entering wakeboard competitions at the collegiate level;
and
WHEREAS,
as the oldest child in his family, he provided loving guidance and support to
his siblings, Lawson and Sydney, and he volunteered at the First United
Methodist Church of Gainesville to work with the younger children at vacation
Bible school; and
WHEREAS,
he was an excellent son and brother, a loyal friend, and compassionate servant
of his neighbors, and he was admired by the young and old alike throughout the
Gainesville community; and
WHEREAS,
Evan departed in a tragic car accident, and while the loss of any loved one is a
terrible event, it is especially heartbreaking to say goodbye to one so young
and full of promise; and
WHEREAS,
in life he commanded the esteem of his fellow Georgians; at his death it is
fitting and proper that we offer our sympathies to his family and
friends.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join together in honoring the memory of Evan Wesley King and extending
the deepest and most sincere condolences to his family and
friends.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Evan Wesley King.
