RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mr. Norris Gaynor on the occasion of his retirement; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Norris Gaynor has provided 37 stellar years of service in education,
retiring as the principal of Summit Hill Elementary School in Alpharetta;
and
WHEREAS,
he was named one of the 100 "High Performance Principals" by Governor Sonny
Perdue in 2006, and in 2005 and 2006, Summit Hill Elementary School received
consecutive Single Statewide Accountability System (SSAS) Platinum Awards from
the Governor´s Office of Student Achievement in recognition of the
school´s superlative performance; and
WHEREAS,
the Platinum Award signifies achieving the highest percentage of students
meeting and exceeding academic standards; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Gaynor has been the school's leader since 1999, and he has inspired the
community with his unparalleled devotion and success in fostering a climate of
excellence for all students; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Gaynor has been a teacher and a superintendent in five different school
systems, and his career has been a shining example to educators throughout the
State of Georgia.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in recognizing Mr. Norris Gaynor for his 37 years of educational
excellence upon the occasion of his retirement as principal of Summit Hill
Elementary School and in extending to him the best of wishes for his
future.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Norris
Gaynor.
