RESOLUTION
Commending
and congratulating Mildred and Wayne Hall on 60 years of marriage; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mildred and Wayne Hall first met in elementary school while they were living in
Atlanta's Kirkwood neighborhood—she was only ten and he was only eleven
years old; and
WHEREAS,
their friendship blossomed, and eight years later they were married on February
2, 1947; and
WHEREAS,
from that time forth, they shared a wonderful life together that has been full
of many special memories; and
WHEREAS,
their mutual love and devotion have grown along with their successful flower
business, Hall's Flower Shop of Stone Mountain, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
from the beginning to the present, their relationship has been all about
flowers— Mr. Hall started working in a neighborhood greenhouse business
when he was still in elementary school and, following their marriage, they
opened their first flower shop in Kirkwood; and
WHEREAS,
throughout these many happy years they have worked side by side, growing a
family as well as their flower business, and their four children each learned,
worked, and contributed as a family member to the success of Hall's Flower Shop;
and
WHEREAS,
with tremendous care, love, and devotion, they raised their four loving
children, daughters Linda and Elaine and sons Wayne and Ken; and
WHEREAS,
now in their early 80s, they have retired, leaving the operation of the flower
shop to their son, but they still work side by side, doing with the one they
love what they love most to do—gardening at their home in Lilburn,
Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
they are faithful members of the First Baptist Church of Stone Mountain, where
Mr. Hall serves as a deacon; and
WHEREAS,
their exemplary lives together have provided inspiration to all who know them,
and their loving relationship provides an excellent model for their family and
other Georgians to follow.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend and congratulate Mildred and Wayne Hall on their 60 wonderful
years together and extend to them their best wishes for continued health and
happiness.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mildred and
Wayne Hall.
