RESOLUTION
Congratulating
the Columbia County 11 and 12 year old All Star Team on winning the 2006 Dixie
Youth Baseball "O" Zone World Series; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
representing the State of Georgia on August 10, 2006, the Columbia County 11 and
12 year old All Star Team defeated South Carolina and captured the Dixie Youth
Baseball "O" Zone World Series in Dothan, Alabama; and
WHEREAS,
during that tournament, Columbia County batters hit a total of 16 home runs,
five of which were executed back to back in one game, while an aggressive
Columbia County pitching staff secured an ironclad defense; and
WHEREAS,
over the span of several months of preparation, every member of this superb team
was highly diligent in perfecting his skills to the utmost level of excellence;
and
WHEREAS,
Coaches Jamie Dukes, Adam Jones, and Chris Price guided their players to victory
with their inspirational leadership and unwavering devotion to excellence;
and
WHEREAS,
the Columbia County team is composed of the following capable young athletes:
Mitch Borror, Austin Crown, Spencer Duffie, Phillip Dukes, Jerrick Gibson,
Garrett Haskins, Christian Hill, Aaron Jones, Tyler Moore, Clayton Peoples, Will
Price, Trevor Rachels, and Jordan Rice; and
WHEREAS,
parents and friends of the team members are justly proud of the Columbia County
11 and 12 year old All Star Team for their extraordinary success.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body congratulate the members and coaches of the Columbia County 11 and 12
year old All Star Team on winning the Dixie Youth Baseball "O" Zone World
Series.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Columbia County 11 and 12 year old All Star Team.
