A RESOLUTION


Congratulating Leah Massee; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the beautiful, intelligent, and talented Leah Massee was crowned Miss Georgia on June 30, 2007, and with great distinction honorably represented our state in the prestigious Miss America pageant where she was selected as a top ten finalist; and

WHEREAS, this extraordinary graduate of Valdosta State University attained a degree in communications and plans to pursue a master´s degree in communication; and

WHEREAS, her considerable accomplishments include being a VIP guest at CMN´s National Celebration, a Nashville Talent Search winner, and Auburn University National Vocalist winner; and

WHEREAS, by her many achievements, grace, and poise, Leah has brought credit to her community and state, and all Georgians are proud of young women who, like Leah, represent the very best that this state has to offer; and

WHEREAS, her significant organizational and leadership talents, her remarkable diplomacy, her keen sense of vision, and her sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of her community have earned her the respect and admiration of her fellow contestants, fellow students, and everyone who has the pleasure of meeting this extraordinary young woman; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that Leah Massee is congratulated upon her selection as a top ten finalist in the Miss America pageant and her crowning as Miss Georgia 2007 and extended the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Leah Massee.
