A RESOLUTION


Commending Georgia´s sustainable and environmentally friendly businesses; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, sustainable small businesses contribute more than 1,350 jobs and $619 million dollars to Georgia´s economy; and

WHEREAS, many of Georgia´s corporations are committed to incorporating sustainable principles and environmental management systems into their business practices; and

WHEREAS, sustainable and environmentally friendly companies generate profits while creating jobs and revenue for the State of Georgia and help to preserve this state´s valuable natural resources for the enjoyment of all Georgians, now and for future generations; and

WHEREAS, some of the vital companies leading the way for a more sustainable Georgia are: Skye Energy, Boss Environmental, Enviro Log, EcoLink, Collective Good, Perkins+Will, Infratec, IfPeople, Sustainable Business Partners, Pull-A-Part, Inc., Novelis, Inc., Georgia Recycling Coalition, Interface, Inc., Melaver, Inc., RainHarvest Company, GreenGuard Environmental Institute, Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation, SP News Print Company, Pratt Industires, Café Compesino and Cooperative Coffees, and Georgia Conservation Voters.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize these outstanding Georgia businesses and commend Georgia´s sustainable businesses for their distinguished corporate citizenship and commitment to reducing waste and improving air and water quality for all Georgians.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Skye Energy, Boss Environmental, Enviro Log, EcoLink, Collective Good, Perkins+Will, Infratec, IfPeople, Sustainable Business Partners, Pull-A-Part, Inc., Novelis, Inc., Georgia Recycling Coalition, Interface, Inc., Melaver, Inc., RainHarvest Company, GreenGuard Environmental Institute, Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation, SP News Print Company, Pratt Industires, Café Compesino and Cooperative Coffees, and Georgia Conservation Voters.
