A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending the Acworth Business Association; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Acworth Business Association was formed in 1979 by a group of Acworth professionals meeting in the basement of the 1st National Bank of Cobb County as the Acworth Business and Professional Association in order to inform and give small businesses a voice in the community and political affairs; and

WHEREAS, the name of this excellent organization officially was changed to the Acworth Business Association as it has grown from four members to over 400 current members; and

WHEREAS, the members of the Acworth Business Association come from all walks of life and are involved in all types of business ventures and community organizations; and

WHEREAS, the Acworth Business Association is a driving economic and political force throughout Acworth, Cobb County, and Georgia that benefits citizens, businesses, and the community; and

WHEREAS, this organization, known for its leadership in community development, has touched the lives of every citizen in Acworth and the surrounding communities through its programs like Partners in Education, Gifts of Love, and the Love the Lake Summer Concert series; and

WHEREAS, the success of the State of Georgia, the strength of our communities, and the vitality of American society depend in great measure upon the dedication of members of associations like the Acworth Business Association who use their considerable talents and resources to serve others.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize the Acworth Business Association, commend its unparalleled achievements, and extend their sincerest best wishes for continued success in the future.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Acworth Business Association.
