A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
the North Metro Miracle League for its outstanding efforts in community outreach
for Cherokee County; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the North Metro Miracle League is a baseball league designed for physically,
mentally, or emotionally challenged children or adults; and
WHEREAS,
the Miracle League, which plays at Hobgood Park, is organized by a group of
compassionate Cherokee County individuals who together provide an amazing
opportunity to those with disabilities who want to play the game of baseball;
and
WHEREAS,
the Miracle League would not be possible without several key volunteers,
including coaches, buddy coordinators, and administrators who selflessly devote
their personal time; and
WHEREAS,
despite the many challenges that the league´s participants face, these
volunteers do their best to create the most positive environment possible;
and
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia is honored to have citizens possessed of such unqualified
love for their fellow man and a sincere desire to make the difference in the
lives of others.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body heartily
commend the North Metro Miracle League for its remarkable and compassionate
service to its community and to the State of Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the North Metro Miracle
League.
