RESOLUTION
Recognizing
Nicole Ebbeskotte for her outstanding leadership in Cherokee County; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Nicole Ebbeskotte is a Deputy with the Cherokee County Sheriff´s
Department, with her official title being that of Public Information Officer;
and
WHEREAS,
while her job is to relay details to the media, her first concern is that the
affected neighborhood is taken care of and informed about what is happening in
the area around them; and
WHEREAS,
she is also the law enforcement liaison with the Cherokee County School District
and does an exemplary job of ensuring that the District is informed of the
issues that relate to them; and
WHEREAS,
this outstanding citizen and public servant educates students on a variety of
vital topics, including stranger danger and safety programs; and
WHEREAS,
going beyond the call of duty, she routinely monitors blog sites solely because
she knows it is a concern for parents and several cases have actually been
solved due to reading what kids are writing on the Internet; and
WHEREAS,
no Neighborhood Watch programs existed when she accepted the position of Public
Information Officer four and a half years ago, but now there are approximately
80 programs in Cherokee County due to her efforts; and
WHEREAS,
she also finds time to serve on several social service boards, including the
Boys and Girls Club and Leadership Cherokee; and
WHEREAS,
this inspirational woman lives by the philosophy which she truly exhibits in
everything she does, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what
you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel"; and
WHEREAS,
her unparalleled dedication and leadership have made and continue to make
Cherokee County and the State of Georgia a better place to live and a place in
which we all feel better because of Nicole Ebbeskotte.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body heartily
commend Nicole Ebbeskotte for her diligent and compassionate service to her
community and to the State of Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Nicole Ebbeskotte.
