RESOLUTION
Congratulating
William Taylor, Jr., for being named a Small Business Giant by the Greater
Columbus Chamber of Commerce; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
William Taylor, Jr., was named the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce Small
Business Giant for February 2007; and
WHEREAS,
William Taylor, Jr., is a certified public accountant who owns Taylor CPA, LLC,
founded in January 2000 in Columbus, Georgia, and which now has an office in
Atlanta; and
WHEREAS,
this small business which has 12 full-time employees publishes a newsletter,
"The Answer," and has sponsored educational columns for Columbus news
publications in addition to offering such services as tax planning, tax
preparation, general ledger maintenance, financial statement preparation,
business reporting, payroll services, financial and business planning, and IRS
conflict resolution; and
WHEREAS,
Taylor CPA belongs to the Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of
Black Accountants' "Division of Firms"; and
WHEREAS,
Taylor CPA provides invaluable hands-on experience in accounting to high school
students through a holiday break externship program, to college students through
an internship program, and to minority accounting students through a mentoring
program; and
WHEREAS,
William Taylor, Jr., and Taylor CPA have established a glowing reputation of
renown throughout Georgia for community service and support of the young people
of this state through hosting track and field camps for youth, sponsoring a
scholarship program, funding summer college program fees for high school band
students, and co-establishing with River City Rehabilitation a "Runship,"
allowing high school sophomores and juniors to compete for a $5,000 stipend to
run a business for a year; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
amazing person and his certified public accounting firm be appropriately
recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
congratulate William Taylor, Jr., on the occasion of being named a Small
Business Giant by the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce in February 2007,
commend him and Taylor CPA, LLC for their many outstanding contributions on
behalf of the citizens of Georgia, and extend best wishes for continued growth,
development, and success in the future.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to William Taylor, Jr.
