RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and congratulating Jordan Schwartz for being honored with the 2007 Prudential
Spirit of Community Award; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Jordan Schwartz, an esteemed resident of Marietta and a student at the Atlanta
Girls' School, has achieved national recognition for exemplary community service
by being honored with the 2007 Prudential Spirit of Community Award;
and
WHEREAS,
the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards are presented by Prudential Financial
in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals to
honor young volunteers across America who have demonstrated an extraordinary
commitment to their communities; and
WHEREAS,
Jordan earned this award by giving generously of her time and energy to
encourage and support girls undergoing treatment with human growth hormones;
and
WHEREAS,
the success of the State of Georgia, the strength of our communities, and the
vitality of American society depend, in great measure, upon the dedication of
young people like Jordan Schwartz who use their considerable talents to serve
others.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body honor and
congratulate Jordan Schwartz for being honored with the Prudential Spirit of
Community Award, recognize her outstanding record of volunteer service and peer
leadership, and extend best wishes for her continued success and fulfillment.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Jordan
Schwartz.
