RESOLUTION
Commending
Dr. Eugene Nwosu and the Goodness & Mercy Foundation, Inc.; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
under the dedicated leadership and astute guidance of Dr. Eugene Nwosu, the
Goodness & Mercy Foundation, Inc., has lived up to its name by
compassionately providing humanitarian aid to struggling families and
individuals in Africa over the course of 17 years; and
WHEREAS,
the Goodness & Mercy Foundation, Inc., is a nonprofit human service
foundation whose mission is to provide much needed medical care, medical
supplies, and health education for low-income families and others who are at
risk in underserved areas in Africa; and
WHEREAS,
Dr. Eugene Nwosu, a Savannah cardiologist, is the founder of the Goodness &
Mercy Foundation, Inc., and, since 1990, he and volunteer doctors, nurses, and
others have made several trips to Nigeria and Ghana to treat the needy;
and
WHEREAS,
the Goodness and Mercy Foundation, Inc., recruits physicians, surgeons,
dentists, optometrists, ophthalmologists, nurses, nutritionists, and lay persons
to go on the missions and carry medical and surgical supplies and loaner
equipment to mission sites and set up operating rooms and perform surgeries;
and
WHEREAS,
the Goodness and Mercy Foundation, Inc., makes a profound difference in the
lives of thousands of people who are otherwise forced to go without medical
care.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body heartily
commend the outstanding humanitarian efforts of the Goodness and Mercy
Foundation, Inc.; express their deepest appreciation for the inspiring
compassion and leadership of Dr. Eugene Nwosu; and extend their sincerest best
wishes for the future.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Dr. Eugene Nwosu.
