RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending James Tyler Phillips; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. James Tyler Phillips, an 18-year-old Chief Petty Officer for the United
States Navel Sea Cadets, was recently named the 2007 National Sea Cadet of the
Year, as well as the 2007 VFW Eagle Scout of the Year; and
WHEREAS,
he was recently invited to attend the Lone Sailor Award in Washington, D.C.;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Phillips has been involved with the Sea Cadet program since the age of 12,
and he is attached to the Warrior Division in Douglasville, Georgia;
and
WHEREAS,
he currently attends Georgia Tech AFROTC and Clayton State University, where he
is studying to become a medical trauma doctor; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Phillips wishes to become a medical trauma doctor and serve the
military.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join
together to commend James Tyler Phillips for his outstanding service and extend
to him their deepest and most sincere best wishes for his continuing
success.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to James Tyler Phillips.
