BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act creating the Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority, approved
February 21, 1951 (Ga. L. 1951, p. 497) , as amended, particularly by an Act
approved March 30, 1989 (Ga. L. 1989, p. 4711), so as to provide for a pay
increase for the members and chairperson of the Cobb County-Marietta Water
Authority; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act creating the Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority, approved February 21,
1951 (Ga. L. 1951, p. 497) , as amended, particularly by an Act approved March
30, 1989 (Ga. L. 1989, p. 4711), is amended by revising subsection (e) of
Section 2 as follows:
"(e)
The members of the authority shall each be entitled to compensation for their
services at the rate of $4,800.00 per year, payable monthly, except that the
chairman shall be entitled to compensation for the chairman´s services at
the rate of $6,000.00 per year, payable monthly. All such compensation payable
by the authority shall be in addition to any compensation otherwise payable to
any member of the authority by any municipality or county by virtue of any
municipal or county elective office held by such member. All members shall be
reimbursed for their actual expenses necessarily incurred in the performance of
their duties. No reimbursement or payment shall be made by the authority for
travel, meal, or entertainment expenses for members of the authority unless on
each occasion the incurring of such expenses for the same is approved in advance
by the authority at one of its public meetings. The authority shall make rules
and regulations for its own government. It shall have perpetual
existence."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
