RESOLUTION
Commending
Cheryl Ruffer; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Cheryl Ruffer and her husband Bruce, along with their children, Jackson and
Rachel, moved to Canton in July, 2003; and
WHEREAS,
as a new resident of the area, Cheryl decided to volunteer in the local
Salvation Army thrift store and has not stopped volunteering generously of her
time and talents since
by assisting at MUST Ministries and as a charter member of Liberty Hill Church where she was instrumental in beginning a Thanksgiving outreach feast for the local Hispanic community which grew to more than 300 residents being served in 2006; and
by assisting at MUST Ministries and as a charter member of Liberty Hill Church where she was instrumental in beginning a Thanksgiving outreach feast for the local Hispanic community which grew to more than 300 residents being served in 2006; and
WHEREAS,
in the summer of 2006, along with other members of her church, she joined MUST
Ministries to offer the Give A Kid A Chance outreach to community families,
providing backpacks filled with school supplies and clothing and a day of lunch,
music, medical screening, and the availability of dental checkups and haircuts;
and
WHEREAS,
Cheryl and her family have recently opened their home to become foster parents;
and
WHEREAS,
Cheryl has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,
talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as
evidenced dramatically by her compassion and generosity of spirit;
and
WHEREAS,
she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, compassion, fairness, and kindness; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Cheryl Ruffer for her unselfish, compassionate, and dedicated public service to
the citizens of her community and state and extend to her their most sincere
best wishes for continued health and happiness.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Cheryl Ruffer.
