BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Code Section 21-2-413 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to the conduct of voters, campaigners, and others at polling places, so as to
prohibit the use of text messaging or other communications using mobile devices
in the enclosed place in a polling place; to provide for related matters; to
provide for an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other
purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Code
Section 21-2-413 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to the
conduct of voters, campaigners, and others at polling places, is amended by
revising subsection (e) as follows:
"(e)
No elector shall use photographic or other electronic monitoring or recording
devices,
or
cellular
telephones, or
any mobile devices used for text messaging or other wireless
communication while such elector is within
the enclosed space in a polling place."
SECTION
2.
This
Act shall become effective upon its approval by the Governor or upon its
becoming law without such approval.
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
