RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mr. Ken Hathaway; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Ken Hathaway has earned a reputation for community service and selfless
dedication to others that has been recognized by
Around Town-Warner
Robins/Perry magazine with his honor as a
Pathfinder of the Month; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Hathaway was elected the 2009 president of Warner Robins Little League
(WRALL) and his leadership and guidance have been invaluable to achieving the
program's goal of developing well-rounded citizens; and
WHEREAS,
the WRALL program assists youth in developing the qualities of citizenship,
discipline, teamwork, and physical well-being through baseball and softball
programs that teach the importance of character, courage, and loyalty;
and
WHEREAS,
even though 2009 is his first year as president of WRALL, Mr. Hathaway has
dedicated years to the program as a coach and manager, helping to enrich the
lives of the future leaders of this state; and
WHEREAS,
he served as a guardian of this nation's freedom for many years on active duty
with the military and now stands ever ready to defend democracy with the Georgia
Air National Guard; and
WHEREAS,
originally from North Carolina, Mr. Hathaway has been a resident of Warner
Robins for the past 23 years and has been active with WRALL since 1990;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Hathaway has dedicated countless hours of his time, talents, and energy to
developing and empowering the youth of Georgia and teaching them important life
lessons; and
WHEREAS,
he has shown his players that learning to win and lose with grace and dignity
are important skills both on the field and off and the determination, hard work,
and perseverance are vital to success; and
WHEREAS,
the benevolent and honorable deeds of this charitable man serve as a shining
example of volunteerism, and the State of Georgia is honored and blessed to have
Mr. Hathaway as a citizen.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Mr. Ken Hathaway on his selfless contributions to improving
the lives of children and congratulate him on the honorable distinction of being
named Around
Town-Warner Robins/Perry magazine's
Pathfinder of the Month.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Ken
Hathaway.
