A
RESOLUTION
Honoring
the life and memory of Mrs. Margaret L. Berry; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens
with the passing of Mrs. Margaret L. Berry on November 18, 2009;
and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Berry was born on January 10, 1916, in Nashville, Tennessee, a beloved
daughter of the late Hattie and Louis Patterson, Sr.; and
WHEREAS,
she served as a compassionate registered nurse for 32 years at Vanderbilt
Hospital and continued to nurture and care for her family and friends after her
retirement; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Berry was united in love and marriage to the late Prince Arthur Berry and
was blessed with the love of her son and daughter-in-law, John and Ina, her
nephew, Pete, her granddaughter, Malia, and seven great-grandchildren, Harvey,
Darla, Jasmine, Stephen, Janay, Joshua, and Jaylon; and
WHEREAS,
she gave inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep concern
for her fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding she
demonstrated to her family and friends was admired by others; and
WHEREAS,
she was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness and, by the example she made of
her life, she made this world a better place in which to live; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Berry will long be remembered for her love of family and friendship, and
this loyal mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend will be missed by all who had
the great fortune of knowing her.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in honoring the life and memory of Mrs. Margaret L. Berry and
express their deepest and most sincere regret at her passing.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of
Mrs. Margaret L. Berry.
