RESOLUTION
Honoring
the life and memory of Mrs. Geraldine "Gerri" Davis Williams; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia mourns the loss of the distinguished and loving Mrs.
Geraldine "Gerri" Davis Williams on July 19, 2008; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Williams was born on October 24, 1952, a beloved daughter to James R. and
Ruth Laverne Davis; and
WHEREAS,
this devout woman confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and continued to
follow the path of God at Greater Powell Chapel A.M.E. Church in Grenada,
Mississippi; and
WHEREAS,
a 1970 graduate of Lew Wallace High School, Mrs. Williams served as a dedicated
public servant for the Social Security Administration, working in Indiana, South
Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi; and
WHEREAS,
during her tenure with the Social Security Administration, Mrs. Williams was
promoted to office manager and held that position for four years before her
retirement with the agency after 35 years of dedicated service; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Williams was united in love and marriage to Clinton Williams on October 6,
1995; and
WHEREAS,
she leaves behind family, neighbors, and loyal friends who will cherish her
memory and the wonderful times shared; and
WHEREAS,
all who were privileged to know this distinguished Georgian join her family in
mourning her loss.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that this body hereby joins in honoring the life and memory of Mrs. Geraldine "Gerri" Davis Williams and expressing its appreciation of her many contributions to her community, friends, neighbors, and family.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that this body hereby joins in honoring the life and memory of Mrs. Geraldine "Gerri" Davis Williams and expressing its appreciation of her many contributions to her community, friends, neighbors, and family.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs.
Williams's family.
