A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mrs. Dawn Brock; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Dawn Brock is widely recognized throughout her community and this state as
the personification of excellence in education; and
WHEREAS,
in recognition of her outstanding dedication to academic achievement, Mrs. Brock
has been named the 2010-2011 Jackson County School System Teacher of the Year;
and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Brock earned associate's degrees in education and allied health from Young
Harris College, a bachelor's degree in early childhood education from Georgia
State University, and a master's degree in early childhood education and a
specialist degree in curriculum and instruction from Piedmont College;
and
WHEREAS,
committed to encouraging and instilling excellence in her students both in the
classroom and out, Mrs. Brock serves as co-chair for the Aggie Club, an
organization that offers opportunities to students in the area of agriculture;
and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Brock has dedicated eight years to the field of education, with three in
Gwinnett County schools and five in Jackson County schools; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Brock has been united in love and marriage to her supportive husband, Wes,
for five years, and a great source of pride and joy are their two dogs, Sadie
and Cooper; and
WHEREAS,
nothing is more vital to the future of our state than the education of our young
people, and during her teaching career, Mrs. Brock has exemplified the selfless
dedication and professionalism which are characteristic of our finest educators;
and
WHEREAS,
it is appropriate that this body join in expressing appreciation to Mrs. Brock
for her outstanding efforts and accomplishments in professional
education.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that Mrs. Dawn Brock
is hereby recognized, commended, and congratulated upon her selection as Teacher
of the Year; and gratitude is expressed for the great credit this fine educator
reflects upon the Jackson County School System and the State of
Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Dawn
Brock.
