RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Youth Sunday at Central Presbyterian Church; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Youth Sunday at Central Presbyterian Church offers young adults of the church
congregation the opportunity to plan and conduct a Sunday worship service;
and
WHEREAS,
participants in Youth Sunday range in age from sixth to twelfth grades and are
responsible for planning service which gathers around the Word, proclaims the
Word, responds to the Word, seals the Word, and provides the congregation with
the ability to follow the Word in their daily lives; and
WHEREAS,
with a participation rate of approximately 90 percent of Central Presbyterian
Church's young adults, Youth Sunday brings participants closer to the Lord and
strengthens their bond with the congregation; and
WHEREAS,
from creating banners, crafting the sermon, researching a topic, and designing
artwork, participants in Youth Sunday create a worshipful event that takes
months of preparation and planning; and
WHEREAS,
the most recent Youth Sunday was held on February 21, 2010, and was led by Davis
Bishop, Colin Bray, Karen Brown, Ashley Bruce, Ethan Campbell-Taylor, Liz Carr,
Kessler Catterall, Walt Cobb, Kevin Davis, Lauren Davis, Anna Downing, Randy
Edwards, Rebecca Enniss, Jonah Florence, Christina Fuller, Jacob Haythorn, Clay
Heidbreder, George Heidbreder, John Michael Heidbreder, Dana Hughes, John
Hughes, Rosie Hughes, Virginia Knight, Oliver Ladd, Hal Lee, Rachel Lee, Alex
McDonald, Wesley McDonald, Lauren Melville, Miriam Moore-Keish, Andrew Morris,
Daniel Morris, Thomas Morris, Anna Laura Page, Lillian Paris, Malcom Isaiah
Partridge, Mark Patterson, Alex Pittman, Nicholas Pittman, Erin Pitts, Lydia
Rainwater, Bella Reiss, Hannah Reiss, Katherine Richter, Claire Riordan,

WHEREAS,
Youth Sunday was a success, due, in part, to the dedicated Youth Committee
volunteers who supervised participants, including Edna Bacon, Trudy Barr, Ricky
Bellis, Karen Brown, Anna Carter-Florence, Dana Hughes, Youth Director Molly
Kent, Dan McDonald, Sandra McDonald, Jim Mooney, Wills and Tracy Moore, Ellen
Phillips, Betty Rainwater, Erika Rembert, Adam Seeley, Linda Smith, Rachel
Stewart, Dave VanderMeer, and Catherine and Bill Wilson.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend the participants of Youth Sunday at Central Presbyterian
Church for uplifting the hearts, minds, and souls of the church
congregation.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Youth Sunday
at Central Presbyterian Church.
