House Resolution 1829

A RESOLUTION


Honoring the life and memory of Mr. Adger Moore, Sr.; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Mr. Adger Moore, Sr., was a dedicated public servant who demonstrated an unyielding commitment to protecting his fellow Georgians and neighbors in Elbert County; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Moore diligently and conscientiously devoted his time, talents, and energy to the field of law enforcement, earning the position of police chief at the age of 28, and was one of the youngest police chiefs to serve in the position in Georgia's history; and

WHEREAS, he dedicated 20 years as Sheriff of Elbert County, where he was highly regarded by the citizens of this state and by local government officials as a person of unquestioned integrity and dedication to the sound principles of law enforcement; and

WHEREAS, a community leader, Mr. Moore served as president of the little league of Elberton, uplifting the lives of countless children; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Moore was a talented singer, serving as a devoted member of the First Baptist Church choir and as a producer, director, stage man, and performer for the Elbert County Singing Convention; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Moore exhibited extraordinary devotion to duty, outstanding loyalty, fine leadership, and meticulous attention to detail in all his duties, and his efficient and effective commitment to excellence was continually recognized by his peers; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the members of this body show their gratitude for the unique and often unheralded contributions of Mr. Moore and all local law enforcement officers on behalf of the citizens of this state.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body honor the memory of Mr. Adger Moore, Sr., and recognize his tireless service in carrying out the difficult duties of his vocation for so many years.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Mr. Adger Moore, Sr.
