RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mathews & Maxwell, Inc.; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mathews & Maxwell, Inc., has been recognized as the top small governmental
affairs firm in Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Terry Mathews and Mr. Scott Maxwell founded Mathews & Maxwell in 1997
and effectively lobby on behalf of clients' interests in such areas as
transportation funding, health care policy, economic development and planning,
and tax related issues; and
WHEREAS,
Mathews & Maxwell's distinction was earned from legislators and others in
the political arena who ranked the company as the most influential at the state
capitol in the on-line survey conducted by the monthly news magazine
James;
and
WHEREAS,
clients of Mathews & Maxwell include multinational corporations such as
Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. and Martin Marietta Aggregates and the Georgia
Construction Aggregate Association, LAI Engineering, the Joseph M. Still Burn
Center in Augusta, the Georgia Public Health Association, and the Georgia
Association of Regional Development Centers; and
WHEREAS,
both Mr. Mathews and Mr. Scott served on former United States Senator Sam Nunn's
staff and are native sons of Oglethorpe County; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Mathews is the beloved son of Mr. and Mrs. Mathews of Enterprise, Georgia,
and Mr. Maxwell is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ralph B. Maxwell, Sr., of
Crawford, Georgia.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Mr. Terry Mathews and Mr. Scott Maxwell on their great
achievements with Mathews & Maxwell, Inc., and congratulate them on their
company's well deserved designation as the best governmental affairs firm in
Georgia.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Terry
Mathews and Mr. Scott Maxwell.
