RESOLUTION
Commending
Charlotte Lawson, Winder-Barrow High School's and Barrow County's 2009 STAR
Student; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
a proper quality education for the young people of this state is the single most
important objective of the General Assembly; and
WHEREAS,
Charlotte Lawson has shown by the example of her academic accomplishments that
the pursuit and attainment of scholastic success are within the reach of the
students in this state; and
WHEREAS,
this remarkable scholar has earned distinction through her superlative
achievements at Winder-Barrow High School where she was a gifted student and was
selected as Winder-Barrow High School's and Barrow County's 2009 STAR Student;
and
WHEREAS,
she has personified the selfless dedication, mental agility, verbal adroitness,
and personal maturity necessary for superlative academic performance, as
evidenced by her impressive SAT Reasoning Test score of 2220; and
WHEREAS,
a resident of Winder, Georgia, Charlotte earned a full paid academic scholarship
to the University of Alabama where she plans to attend this fall and study
political science and criminal justice; and
WHEREAS,
Charlotte enjoys politics and theater, is a member of her school's Thespian
Honor Society, and is a drama club officer; and
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia looks with great anticipation toward the future of this
bright and promising young citizen.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body heartily commend Charlotte Lawson for her spectacular scholastic
endeavors and express to her their most sincere best wishes for continued
academic success in the future.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Charlotte
Lawson.
