RESOLUTION
Congratulating
the Ridgeland High School football team on winning its first Region 6-AAA
Championship; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
through perseverance and iron determination, the Ridgeland High School football
team earned the top ranking in Region 6 with their 28-13 victory over Carrollton
High School; and
WHEREAS,
the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding
athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, the unity of purpose and spirit
of each member of the team, and their superb offensive and defensive talents;
and
WHEREAS,
this team's stellar performances this season are due to the astute direction of
Head Coach Mark Mariakis; and
WHEREAS,
as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by
performing with courage and precision over months of training and competition,
it is abundantly proper to call them champions.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body congratulate the Ridgeland High School football team on winning its
first Region 6-AAA Championship and extend their sincerest best wishes for
future success.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the players
and coaches of the 2008 Ridgeland High School football team.
