BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Article 3 of Chapter 2 of Title 20 of the Official Code of Georgia
Annotated, relating to local boards of education, so as to provide for the
adoption of codes of ethics to govern members of local boards of education; to
provide for annual review of such codes of ethics; to provide for related
matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Article
3 of Chapter 2 of Title 20 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to local boards of education, is amended by adding a new Code section to read as
follows:
"20-2-72.
Each
local board of education shall adopt a code of ethics to govern members of the
local board of education. Each local board of education shall annually review
its code of ethics and shall announce such review and any changes in the code of
ethics at regular meetings of the
board."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
